WEB FIRST: March loses seat

Incumbent mayor Lorraine March has been ousted, with incumbent councillor Malcolm MacLeod elected as mayor of Sicamous.
MacLeod topped the polls with 488 votes, defeating challenger Jack Andrews with 210 votes and March with 196.
Of the 10 people competing for six council spots, Heidi DeWit topped the polls with 665 votes.
Also elected as councillor were former mayor Fred Busch with 595, Jerry Silva with 503, Lynn Miller with 433, Ken Thomson with 409 and Lonnie Jones with 405.
Not elected were: Don Richardson with 402 votes, Diana Stooshnov with 350, Gary Ferns with 325 and Roger Taylor with 309.
Voter turnout was high at 44.7 per cent, with 894 out of 2,000 eligible voters casting ballots.
