Soccer season is over at Clearwater Secondary School (the boys’ team placed fifth in the league) and volleyball is underway.

The Senior Girls went to 100 Mile House the weekend before last to compete against the home team of Peter Skene Ogden Secondary, plus Ashcroft Secondary, Burns Lake Secondary and Columneetza Secondary of Quesnel.

Clearwater had beaten PSO at home in a previous match-up but lost to them twice in two days during the tourney.

In addition to the loss to PSO on the first day, the Raiders beat the other three teams, leaving them in a three-way tie at the round robin.

On day two, in double elimination play, Clearwater beat Ashcroft again but lost to PSO and Columneetza, leaving them in third spot.

Burns Lake, a team CSS beat on the first day, ended up as tournament winner.

Aaren Ritchie-Bonar was Clearwater’s tourney all-star.

Clearwater’s Grade 8 Girls hosted a play-day last Monday but lost all their games.

Wednesday evening three teams from CSS played away. The Junior Girls beat Chase 2 – 0, lost to Kamloops Christian School 2 – 0 and lost to Beattie 2 – 1 with the third game being a 17 – 15 loss.

The Junior Boys lost both their matches to Brock and Sa-Hali, 2 – 1. The Senior Boys lost to a strong Sa-hali team, and then defeated Valleyview 2 – 0.

Clearwater’s next home game will be on Wednesday, Oct. 28 when the Senior Girls take on Kamloops.
