Thanks for your support
Published: December 01, 2008 5:00 AMI would like to thank the members of the community who took the time to vote in the Nov 15th civic elections. Some people like to be more actively involved in the management of the direction taken by the community and resources that go into running it. But for most people, voting is about the limit to the involvement they want and it is good to see that a large percentage of the community is willing to make even that level of effort.
Next, I would like to thank the other 11 people who stood up and said they were willing to take on the job if the electorate wanted them to. "Congratulations" to all who were elected. I feel, as a resident, that this community is in good hands. There is some experience combined with a high level of energy in all of these people. To the rest, "thanks" for participating and providing the opportunity for the community to voice their options with a vote.
Finally, thanks to the people who supported me through the campaign and with votes at the ballot box. I took the opportunity to go to the Legion to watch the ballot count, which is something I had never seen before. I can see where it would be a tedious task, but the staff were diligent in making sure the count was done properly.
Now that this process is done with for the next 3 years (hopefully), it is time for all of us to get down to the business of moving Clearwater ahead.
