Getting involved in chamber

Your local Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual general meeting at the Clearwater Lodge this Tuesday — Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. Members and other business people are welcome to attend, refreshments will be served and we would like to invite you to stay and take part in this networking opportunity. There are some positions available, and we encourage business owners to get involved in your local chamber and be part of the development of this entity.

As the Honored Royal Lady of local branch #203 of the Order of the Royal Purple, I would like to thank Cindy Wilgosh from the Success By 6 community and the Haggerty’s who are leaders in the Meti community, for inviting the ladies to be a part of the Louis Reil Days celebration. We are also extending a big thank you to the community members who supported our concession at the Elks Hall last Sunday.

Speaking of the Elks Hall — don’t forget that there is a big Craft and Small business sale there this weekend Saturday, Dec. 6. Phyllis Bucknell is your Elks contact.

You know that solid Waste Management Plan that has introduced recycling and turned our worlds up-side down with its new fangled ways? Well, I have accepted a position to monitor the implementation of this plan, and will be attending meeting in Kamloops (first one Dec. 10) so, email me you beefs and bouquets to zeirlxand12@yahoo.ca and I will bring these forward on your behalf. This will be an ongoing series of meetings, so you can keep me in mind till I tell you differently. My phone number is 250-674-3260 or you can drop me a line at Box 417 here in Clearwater.

Don’t forget that Jagar Garbage is available to take care of all your needs — garbage disposal, and recycling — so look him up in the phone book and get crub-side pick-up arranged. He is making Mondays recycling day, so that makes things clean and easy to remember. (Oh, and he is very reasonable price wise — so that is an option that will take care of that long drive up to the Clearwater dump that so many have brought up at public meetings).December brings a few changes to the regular — for example the monthly meeting of the North Thompson Valley Garden Club will be held at the North Thompson Volunteer Center in Barriere on Dec. 14.

We will be sharing a pot luck lunch this time, so the gathering will start at noon or there abouts. Do check the Times for announcements.
