Dancers bring smiles to market

This is the fourth performance from Making Connections, Making Dance during the 2007 — 2008 season. In the fall “Red Poppies” was performed for the Legion and guests during the Remembrance Day events. “The Toy Shop” and a selection from “The Nutcracker” were the two Christmas pieces prepared for the Evergreen Acres residents and guests. “Peter and the Wolf” was part of Peoples of the North” community event in mid-March, and finally this open-air “Springtime Dance” recital of small but eager dancers brought sunshine and smiles.

Eleanor Deckert enjoyed invites to the Raft River Elementary School for two events. “Healthy Schools Day” offered the opportunity for each of the primary classes to meet with Deckert for creative dance in the gym. And “Ready, Set, Learn” provided a parent-child session sharing basic movements that can be used to stretch, improvise and enjoy movement-to-music at home.

What's next? Parents are asking. Children are asking. Even the audience/ fans are asking!

Although there will be no summer creative dance classes, Eleanor's creativity is sure to find new venues in September. Watch for announcements.
