About Us

The North Thompson Times reports on the people and events of Clearwater, Blue River, Avola, Vavenby, Birch Island, Upper Clearwater, Blackpool, East Blackpool, Roundtop and Wells Gray Park. A weekly community newspaper, it has been the paper of record for the Upper North Thompson Valley since 1964. Published every Monday, the Times is a subscription-based broadsheet with a circulation of just under 1,500. In the spring of 2005 the Canadian Community Newspaper Association awarded the Times second place for best all round newspaper, second place for best editorial page and third place for best front page in its circulation class across Canada. For five of the past seven years the Times has been a top three finalist in the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Association's general excellence competition.
