New driving penalties centre on vehicle impoundment

Drinking and driving and excessive speeding comes with a heavier price to pay as of Sept. 20 when the province introduces new penalties for driver.

Ashcroft Traffic Services Cpl. JR Michaud says the new legislation will change the way his crew handles traffic enforcement, because officers can now issue immediate roadside prohibitions (IRPs) and vehicle impoundments.
