First Nations mask stolen

KEEP AN eye out for a one-of-a-kind First Nations mask taken from Gemma's Boutique around Oct. 26.
The mask is described as a wooden Shaman Mask with long hair, red lips and nose, black eyebrows, a stripe over the nose and cheeks and spikes on the top of its head, say police.
The mask is worth about $1,200, according to Bruno Belanger, owner of Gemma's.
It was carved by Henry Reece, a local artist, and has been in the Gemma's collection for almost four years.
The mask was hung quite high on the wall but it's possible that when staff were hanging Christmas ornaments that a ladder was left close to the mask, said Belanger.
Someone could've come in, climbed up the ladder, unhooked the mask from the wall and walked out with it, he said.
If anyone has information about the missing mask, call Terrace RCMP at 250-638-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
