HUGHIE DAVIS, a local homeless man, was found dead this weekend on a bench downtown.

Davis was discovered on October 30 at approximately 7:35 p.m. when Terrace RCMP and Emergency Services were called out to the intersection of Lazelle and Atwood where he was found.

Foul play is not involved and no further details are being released, say police.

A touching memorial for Davis has been placed on the back of the Almarlin building downtown with a single poppy attached to the top. The area with the memorial is a regular place where some of Terrace's homeless congregate.

Here is Davis on the far left with some friends back in August, 2006. From left are Davis, Roy, Harry and Darryl hanging out at their usual spot by the train tracks.
