LOCAL POLICE are asking for the public’s help with an assault that took place near the overpass in September.

While walking south through the wooded area south of the Sande Overpass, a male and female were confronted by a group of five non-white males, at about 1:40 a.m. Sept. 13, say Terrace RCMP.

They exchanged a few comments and the male and female began to walk away, said police.

While the male’s back was turned, one group member punched him on the back of the head, causing him to fall.

The other four men began to repeatedly kick and punch the male, say police.

The female fled and was not injured. The male eventually escaped and went to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of a neck injury caused by the attack.

The pair said that the male suspects were non-white and all wore jeans and black hoodies.

One of the males in the group was about 5’6” tall with a stocky build, one male wore a black toque and another male wore a white hat with red fabric under the brim, say police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Terrace RCMP at 250-638-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
