TERRACE IS gearing up for the 2010 BC Winter Games this March with the grand opening of the games’ office today.
The opening starts at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Mountainview School which is to be the headquarters for the games.
The event will host a few sports demonstrations and light refreshments with an official ribbon cutting at 11:15 a.m. and winter games souvenirs including hats, toques and jackets, will be available.
Winter games organizers are hoping to create some buzz for the event and recruit some helping hands, as without a solid crew of volunteers the games couldn’t take place.
Onsite volunteer registration will be available, so for anyone who’s interested in volunteering for the games, which run from March 4-7 2010, this is the place to be.
The winter games crew are also gearing up for the parade of lights and torchlighting ceremony, which will take place Saturday Dec. 5.
