THE GREATER Terrace Beautification Society has received another boost for its continuing work thanks to a promotion called Do It In June.

Bob Park of All Seasons Source for Sports presented society member Conrad Ganzenberg and society president Chris Hansen with a cheque this week.

The amount, just over $1,200, was raised through the Do It In June physical recreation promotion.

“What we were looking for is three activities a week,” said Park. “The idea was just to get people out there being active.”

In return for a registration fee and a commitment to undertake physical activity, participants received a t-shirt at the end of the month.

“It was a triple win, a win-win-win,” said Ganzenberg noting that the society wins, the community wins thanks to beautification and participants win because of the exercise they get.

Hansen said the society appreciated the efforts of businesses such as All Seasons in helping it achieve its goals.

This is the third year the business has sponsored Do It In June.

Latest on the society's list is continued work on the extension to the Howe Creek trail at the bottom of Lanfear Hill and a plan to beautify the former Esso station site on the corner of Emerson and Lakelse.
