Fans attending the Prince George Spruce Kings game on Nov. 6 will leave the building as energy conservation experts. Thanks to a new partnership between the British Columbia Hockey League and BC Hydro, Power Smart representatives will be on site to educate attendees on energy efficiency.
Hockey fans of all ages will be treated to interactive displays and activities on energy conservation. BC Hydro’s Power the Games tour – which travelled the province all summer – will be set up at the Prince George Coliseum. Attendees can make a personal commitment to energy efficiency by joining Team Power Smart at the tour and be entered into a draw for a chance at winning Olympic tickets.
More than 140,000 British Columbians have joined Team Power Smart already. BC Hydro is trying to recruit 210,000 members to the team before the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
BC Hydro is also presenting the league’s Fred Page Cup Championship in March
BC Hydro’s Power the Games tour brings together the spirit of energy conservation and the 2010 Winter Games. Since the spring, the tour has visited more than 90 communities in B.C. Close to 7,000 British Columbians have visited the tour at more than 1,200 community events.
