Cougars drop shootout game

The Prince George Cougars lost in a shootout in Kelwona Wednesday evening to open a seven-game road trip.

The teams were tied 2-2 after one, 3-3 after two and 4-4 at the end of regulation. Overtime solved nothing, and Tyson Barrie of the Rockets was the only player to score in the first round of the shootout.

James Dobrowolski had both of the Cougars’ first-period goals, with Nick Buonassisi in the second and Robbie Ciolfi in the third getting the others.

The Cougars play tonight in Swift Current.
