Jill was a person
Editor:
This is a letter meant to set right the image of a woman who had a family, who was a mother, who was a beautiful person, and who is now being pasted as just another dead homeless woman; as indicative of the picture and story in your paper.
Jill Stuchenko was not just another dead homeless criminal, and shame on you for not taking the time to find out even a little bit about this woman before pasting such an unflattering image in combination with the title “body found in gravel pit.”
I socialized with Jill when she and I both had young babies; she was such a lovely mother. Jill was so kind towards her son and loved him to pieces. She was a thoughtful and soft-spoken woman. Along with all of the wonderful attributes about her, came a tormented history, repeated victimization and a ton of hurt. It deeply saddens me that this story completely portrayed Jill in such an insensitive fashion. Jill was somebody’s daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Shame on you.
