Tabor Lake home destroyed by fire

Fire destroyed a home at 11175 Jayson Rd., near Tabor Lake east of Prince George early Wednesday morning.
Ferndale-Tabor Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department chief Bryant Kemble said the department was called around 7:30 a.m. about a house fire in progress.
"We found an inaccessible driveway and a structure fire fully involved," Kemble said. "By the time we got through the gateway it was fully engulfed. At this point it's a total loss."
Nobody was living in the home at the time of the fire, he said.
"Nobody's been there since the last snowfall," Kemble said. "The cause of the fire is under investigation."
Volunteers from the Ferndale-Tabor, Pineview and Shell Glen departments were on scene for five hours controlling the blaze and mopping up hotspots.
The registered owners of the property are based in Courtenay, B.C.
