CCMA winning Ridley Bent coming to P.G.
Canadan Country Music Award winner Ridley Bent will play at the Prince George Playhouse October 5.
After receiving a 2009 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Award nomination for Roots Artist or Group of the Year and recently winning best country song at the eighth annual Independent Music Awards, country artist Ridley Bent is earning a reputation as one of Canada’s best songwriters.
He plays the Prince George Playhouse on Oct. 5
Bent is a modern-day cowboy in every sense of the word. Born in Halifax, bred in Alberta, making stops in Whistler and Vancouver before packing up again and heading to Winnipeg, Ridley’s lived on both coasts and places in between, rounding up stories of modern day desperadoes, lovesick drifters and small town heroes along the way.
Influenced by the music of George Jones and Johnny Cash, Ridley Bent’s latest album Buckles and Boots is country through and through. Known for bringing a distinct level of commitment to his performances, holding his own on stage, Ridley often draws comparisons to classic country artists like Hank Williams Sr. Tickets for the Ridley Bent show at the Playhouse are $20, available at Studio 2880.
