About Us

The Omineca Express has served the communities of Vanderhoof, Fort Fraser and Fraser Lake since 1978. A weekly paper, published every Wednesday, the Express gives residents from Cluculz Lake to Endako a local perspective on the news. Most of these communities have natural-resource based economies, whether that means forestry, mining or tourism, but each has their own unique atmosphere to offer.

	Editor Elaine Storey 250-567-9258	Elaine Storey has lived in Fraser Lake for 40 years, and has had a passion for writing since high school. She became the editor of the Omineca Express on April 21, 2008, feeling her life experiences matched the job, and that the job was perfect for her. Elaine has a strong feel for small-town community news, and comes from a hockey family.
	Sales Manager, Publisher Pam Berger 250-567-9258	Pam Berger has been with Black Press for more than 14 years. Having called Vanderhoof home since 1966, she has a strong feel for our tri-town area. Pam enjoys people, and loves watching as our towns grow and prosper. "The Omineca Express truly is a community newspaper, where we believe real people, real news and real life makes us unique."
	Production Department Wendy Haslam	Wendy Haslam has been with the Omineca Express production department since 1993. In that time, she's gone from cut-and-paste layout and a darkroom to doing ads, classifieds and special sections totally on computer. She has seen a lot of changes in her years with the paper, and looks forward to what the future will bring in new technology.
	Production Department Julia Beal	Julia Beal has been with the Omineca Express production department since 1991. In that time, she's gone from cut-and-paste layout and a Compugraphic machine to doing ads, classifieds, editorial and special sections totally on computer. She enjoys a challenge, so all the upcoming changes will be exciting for her.
	Circulation Manager, Classified Manager, Front Office Leslie Harris 250-567-9258	Born and raised in Vanderhoof, Leslie Harris has her roots planted firmly in the community. Leslie enjoys interacting with people on a real personal level. She loves the newspaper business and finds it fun and exciting.
