Are you ready to share Jesus?

“… with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace”. Ephesians 6:15

Shawn Allan

For years I never took care of my feet. I would buy the cheapest shoes available and wear them until they literally broke apart.

I saw shoes as a necessary evil that I had to wear, but never saw any benefit. Then one day a friend bought me a pair of high performance training shoes because he noticed I was walking with a bad gait.

I put them on and have been hooked on high quality foot wear for myself and my family ever since. I learned that without good footwear I limit myself from reaching the best. I also learned that good footwear keeps me ready for when I have to go now.

The armour of God calls for us to have our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

The gospel of peace isn’t just your thoughts and opinions about God. It’s your life’s testimony of complete transformation that you share consistently and with more depth as you grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Trying to call yourself a Christian, but never actually learning from, sharing about and following Jesus is like putting on cheap shoes that just get you by.

The reason this is part of God’s armour is because followers of Jesus must be ready at all times to give their reason for the hope they have. Hope is what the gospel of peace offers.

We are spending too much time trying to ‘make do’ with basic knowledge about God and too much opinion from each other. God has promised unlimited knowledge and wisdom for all of life; and it’s available for us to make ourselves ready to face all of life.

God offers us a piece of His armor that will take us where we can never go without it.

My high quality shoes have allowed me to experience life in a way I only ever saw in other people.

There is a cost and I had to make other sacrifices, but looking back, they were worth it.

There is a cost for wearing this piece of God’s armour too.

Getting yourself fitted means God is the one preparing you and what He is preparing you for is sharing His gospel of peace.

Are you ready?
