KITIMAT ART CLUB meets at 7 p.m. in Room 509 (shop wing) at Mount Elizabeth Secondary. Own project night - bring in anu unfinished drawing or painting project and work on it in our creative group atmosphere. OUT OF THE BOX at Kitimat Museum and Archives. Mike Avery has lots of toys – he has been collecting them for years. Now he is bringing them ‘Out of the Box’ and putting them on display in our Gallery. Art pieces created in the four “Action Figure” workshops will also be on display.

Beginning Monday, November 23

Christ the King parishioners invite the community to join them for a parish mission Monday, November 23 to Thursday, November 26, 7:30-8:30 p.m. each evening. Father Lucien Larre is the guest speaker and has been awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal, Good Servant Award, William Kurelek Award and, in 1983, the Order of Canada. He returned his Order in 2008 to protest abortionist Dr. Morgenthaler receiving the award. On Friday, November 27 he will be offering a workshop for parents, teachers and anyone interested in children. This workshop is focused on learning disabilities, visual deficits, attention/concentration difficulties, brain damage, depression, anxiety, children development, discipline and bahavioural problems. No pre-registration is required. Refreshments and time for socializing will follow the mission talks each evening. If you need a ride or additional information, call 250-632-2215.

Parenting Program: My Tween & Me is a parenting program for fathers and mothers of children 7-12 years old. During the “tween” years, your children grow more independent. Don’t miss the opportunity to build lasting connections that will help them make safe, healthy choices during their teen years.Starts Wednesday, October 28, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Roy Wilcox Elementary. Christ the King Parish bereavement ministry committee is sponsoring Connecting Each Other with Hope, a six-week grief support group for adults who are grieving the death od a loved one. The sessions run Mondays, 7-9 p.m. in the Catholic Church Hall and end November 23. An opportunity to learn and reflect together with people who understand, know and care what a journey with grief is like. The sessions are open to everyone regardless of religious affiliation. CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE offers a Grandparents Who Care support group. Are you raising grandchildren that you had not expected to be raising? TOPS meets Monday nights in the multipurpose room at Kitimat General Hospital, 7-8 p.m. (weigh in 6-6:45 p.m.) New members welcome.

Healthy Babies Drop In Thursdays from 10:30 a.m to 12:00 p.m. at the Child Development Centre. Come to the drop in to meet other families and have your questions about breastfeeding, development, and much more answered by outreach workers and public health nurses. Snacks provided. Kitimat Adult Literacy program is looking for people interested in tutoring. We offer tutoring services for English as a Second Language, math, reading, writing, communication and information technology. We offer free training and resources to assist you.
