Oct. 18 at 5:45 pm police received a complaint that two people were stringing fishing nets across Barnes Lake. Police contacted Fish and Wildlife who advised that they had no one available to attend. Police attended but did not locate anyone. The following day they found out that the men stringing the line had been Fish and Wildlife officers doing a fish analysis.
Oct. 13 - RCMP received a complaint from a Vancouver area man who declared his brother had gone hiking in the Stein Valley Provincial Park, and that his return from the Park was overdue.
RCMP Air Services from Kamloops conducted patrols of the Park and successfully located the at large male walking on Ferry Rd. in Lytton. The hiker told police that there was a miscommunication with his brother and that he was not late exiting the Park.
Oct. 17 - Police were notified by a concerned citizen that an intoxicated female was on Main St. and unable to care for herself. A member located the female near the 200 block of Main St. holding a puppy.
The drunk woman was not cognisant that her pants had fallen down. She was arrested for causing a disturbance and held in police custody until sober.
Oct. 16 police received a complaint of an assault from a 43 yr. old Ashcroft man who stated that at least three unknown males forced their way into his residence the night of Oct. 14 and assaulted him.
He was not able to identify them but had some suspects in mind because of a recent altercation he’d had with a local family, or the males could have been acquaintances from Merritt, or the assault could have stemmed from a recent confrontation he’d had at work.
The man suffered minor injuries and the matter is still under investigation.
