Decker Lake Forest Products mill fire
A recent electrical fire at the Hampton Affiliates owned Decker Lake Forest Products Ltd. lumber mill did not have an effect on operations.
According to David Garcia, regional manager of Canadian operations for Hampton Affiliates the section of the mill that the fire broke out in was on a two week layoff when the fire broke out.
"The fire occurred in a control box in the cut off saw in the sawmill," noted Garcia. "There was damage to the electrical components, but the repairs to this are now nearly complete," said Garcia.
"The sawmill was down during this period anyway so there was no immediate effects to production due to the fire," he added.
According to Garcia the damage caused by the fire was very minimal and there was nobody injured," he said.
"The sawmill is up and running again this week for a two week period," added Garcia.
