For more than a century, The Interior News has been serving the Bulkley Valley situated in beautiful Northwest B.C. in Smithers, B.C., at the base of one of Canada's most stunning mountains — Hudson Bay Mountain. Over the past three years, The Interior News has won more than 60 international, national and provincial awards for journalistic and advertising excellence — including a clean sweep of all general excellence categories — Best All Round Newspaper, Best Editorial Page, Best Front Page, in its circulation range at the 2007 Canadian Community Newspaper Association Better Newspaper Competition in Winnipeg, Manitoba. As well, in 2008, The Interior News was honoured with the Most Outstanding Community Service Award by the CCNA for the second straight year and is the three-time Ma Murray Award winners for 2006, 2007 and 2008 for Outstanding Community Service.
