RCMP Beat
A driver, who successfully lost the RCMP officer following him for erratic driving, was later charged for impaired driving after being recognized after pulling out in front of the same RCMP officer.
RCMP initially tried to pull the driver over for erratic driving, however the vehicle refused to pull over and began driving even more dangerously.
“The officer deemed the risk of public safety too great, so he called off the pursuit,” corporal Scott Watson said.
However, as the officer continued on the same white Pontiac Sunbird pulled out in front of his vehicle, and at that point the officer was able to identify the driver, who is known to police.
RCMP later seized the vehicle, which did not belong to the driver, who had been prohibited from driving from previous experiences. Charges have been forwarded to the crown.
