Missing man found safe
A missing man was found last Wednesday after months of no contact with friends and family in Nelson B.C. and a missing person’s search by RCMP.
“We’re just happy that he’s alive and well,” corporal Scott Watson with the Houston detachment said.
Michael Christopher Bolton was reported missing on July 9 and was last reported in Houston, B.C. where original reports stated he was boarding a Greyhound bus, destination unknown. Later RCMP discovered that no ticket had been purchased and began receiving reports of sightings in the Terrace area.
After months of no contact with family and friends, Watson said that foul play was being considered as an explanation for his sudden and unexplained disappearance.
After a review of their files, a Ministry of Housing and Social Development worker reported Bolton’s file to the Nelson RCMP, who found Bolton safe and sound.
“He was unaware that he had been reported missing,” Watson said. “He had basically left to start life over, in his own words, and didn’t think it was important to notify his family or friends.”
