A missing Vernon woman may be somewhere in B.C.’s northwest.
RCMP have reason to believe that Ginette Bernadette Bachen, 49, may be in the Houston-Terrace-or-Prince Rupert area.
“Through access to her bank accounts, and recent activities on the accounts, we believe she may be up in that area,” said Vernon RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk. “We also have a report that she was seen in a restaurant, and we have unconfirmed reports she may be up there mushroom picking, or knows someone in that area.”
Bachen, 49, has not been seen or heard from since Aug. 27.
Family members became concerned when they had not heard from her for about two weeks and phoned Vernon RCMP.
Bachen, who has brown eyes and grey hair, is known to suffer from depression.
She is driving a white 2004 Saturn four-door car, with licence plate number 729 AKS. Bachen travels constantly with a reddish/brown golden retriever.
Her family would like to hear from her to make sure she's okay.
Anyone with any information about Bachen, or where she can be located, is asked to call the nearest police detachment, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
