The Fort St. James Secondary School Student Council has began their 2009 Food and Toy Drive. The Student Council’s goal was to reach $4,000 for Christmas. The Food and Toy Drive has done very well in the past, and the need is even greater this year. The Campain runs to December 11 and hampers will be delivered to receipents on December 18. All the money raised from this charity are spent locally in support of retail and grocery stores within the community. In 2008 Christmas Food and Toy Hampers were delivered to over 100 families. “2009 has been a long and difficult year for many of the residents of Fort St. James,” Joan Burdenick said. “Integris Credit Union would like to challenge other local business to meet or beat our initial contribution of $400 which represents 10 per cent of the 2009 Food and Toy Drives fundraising goal. Together we can made a difference”
