About Us

The Caledonia Courier is a weekly community newspaper covering Fort St. James and the surrounding area. The Courier was started in 1972 to give residents a local perspective on the news. Fort St. James is a forestry-based community with a growing tourism sector built on the shores of Stuart Lake. As well as local news, the Courier covers the places and people that make life in the region unique, like: The Fort St. James National Historic Park, the Thunder on Ice snow sled races and the Caledonia Classic dog sled race. The beauty and history of Fort St. James is one of the best-kept secrets in B.C.
