Dog day at Bull Mountain
The second annual Ski-With-Your-Dog-Day will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at the cross-country ski trails at Bull Mountain, just 16 kilometres north of Williams Lake.
The goal of this event is to promote fun activities people can do with their pets while highlighting the excellent cross country ski trails Bull Mountain has to offer.
Exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle for us, as well as our canine companions.
Fresh air, running and playing daily helps to maintain strong muscles and bones, while cleansing the body of toxins and promoting a general sense of well being.
The club, for this one day, will open all the trails at Bull Mountain for our canine companions to ski along beside us.
There will be homemade chili and baking (both human and canine varieties) available by donation and a silent auction with a number of great prizes donated by local businesses.
All proceeds raised will go to help out the animals at our local SPCA.
The event is planned to go ahead regardless of conditions.
If there is not enough snow for skiing then we will have a play day in the field, so come prepared for anything.
Staff from the Williams Lake Veterinary Hospital will be available to give your dog a body condition score and tips on achieving or maintaining a healthy weight.
They say we don’t stop playing because we grow old, but that we grow old because we stop playing.
So come out to play and support the SPCA.
Bring your best friend, a leash, and the entire family for this free day at Bull Mountain.
