Thanks in part to the efforts of local photographer Craig Smith, the Williams Lake Timberwolves were featured in October’s British Columbia Hockey League magazine, Smart Hockey.

Smith was awarded a contract to take photos for the article, which was written by Brent Mutis and profiles the Williams Lake Timberwolves’ newly named captain Justin Bardarson.

“It’s great, I’m very excited,” says Richard Kohlen, part owner and governor of the Williams Lake Timberwolves.

“Justin has set himself as a leader. He does fantastic stuff in the community.

“He takes it upon himself two or three afternoons [a week] to play road hockey.”

Kohlen adds it’s great to see a member of the Timberwolves featured in the magazine.

“It’s just amazing to get that recognition from the league,” he says.

“Justin, he’s the hardest working player on the ice. I’m not surprised they did a write-up.”

Bardarson, a 19-year-old 5-foot-10, 192-pound forward, joins the T-wolves this season after a successful stint with the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s Chase Chiefs where he played two seasons and served as an alternate captain.

Kohlen adds he’s thankful for the work Smith has done for the Timberwolves this season, as Smith is also the team’s official photographer.

The magazine is currently in its second season as the official publication of the British Columbia Hockey League.
