A 108 Mile House resident died in a fatal motor vehicle accident on Highway 97, just south of 150 Mile House, Saturday morning.
Melanie Endel of 108 Mile Ranch died when travelling north bound in her Pontiac Sunfire.
At about 8:20 a.m., her car crossed the centre line and collided with a south bound tractor trailer unit.
Endel was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tractor trailer was destroyed due to it catching fire. The 150 Mile Volunteer Fire Department attended the scene and put the fire out.
The driver and passengers of the tractor trailer were taken to Cariboo Memorial Hospital for their injuries and were released a short time later.
All of those involved in the collision were wearing their seatbelts, and police say alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor.
The road was bare and dry and in good condition. The weather was clear and sunny with excellent visibility.
The BC Coroners Services attended and will continue its investigation.
Police are also continuing to investigate with the assistance of a traffic analyst.
Police ask any witnesses to speak to the investigators at the Williams Lake RCMP detachment, at 250-392-6211.
