Lost load

A logging truck roll-over caused extensive traffic delays Wednesday.

At 4 p.m. a logging truck rolled onto its side while negotiating the curve on the Front Street loop, spilling its load onto the road.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital as a precautionary measure.

No other damage or injuries were reported and charges against the driver are pending.

Spill

Traffic was backed up for hours after a flat deck truck lost its load southbound on Highway 97.

Monday, the truck rounded the corner on the west side of the Quesnel River bridge when two 205 litre barrels of hydraulic fluid rolled off the rear deck. One of the barrels was struck by a northbound vehicle causing it to break open, spilling all 205 litres of fluid on the road.

Quesnel Fire Department, HMC and Brent Graham Limited Environmental Services assisted in the clean up.
