The Little Big House is keeping busy this fall. We are always looking for more Big Brothers, Big Sisters and In-School Mentors. Dare to be a Kid again! Call our office at 992-7257 for more information.
Big Brothers Big Sisters, along with Quesnel Special Olympics, helped out with the Prospector’s Car Club Steak Out weekend. Our organization was pleased to be presented with a cheque from the club for $2,500. It is a great ongoing partnership.
The RCMP Foundation will be sponsoring some of our monthly group outings and match outings. It was great to receive a cheque for $2,000 recently from them.
The Rotary Club of Quesnel also helped us out. We were in need of a new multi-function printer, new banners and new lettering on our Renew Clothing Bin. The Rotary Club donated $1,000 for these purchases.
The Quesnel Millionaires donated four season passes to their hockey games. Our Bigs and Littles greatly appreciate the opportunity to watch the Mills in action.
Our organization continues to grow as more and more families are asking for support for their children. Donations help to offset regular monthly expenses, to maintain the office and staff, recruit and screen volunteers and provide our valuable programs to the community.
We were happy to partner with Tony and Staples in their recent Stock the Locker campaign. 100 students received a contribution towards purchasing their school supplies.
We want to thank Booster Juice for promoting our organization throughout September as it is Big Brother Big Sister month.
Our Annual General Meeting is at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 14 at the Child Development Centre on St Laurent Avenue. Public is welcome to attend.
