The Quesnel School District International Student Programme is thriving.
Currently, 30 International students in Grades 4 to 12 from Korea, Japan and China are attending schools in Quesnel.
School District 28 is anticipating an increase in the number of short-term and long-term International students for the 2008-09 school year.
These students value the opportunity to learn in Canadian schools, participate in community activities and experience Canadian culture.
An integral part of the International Program is finding quality home stay placements for the students who come from Korea, Japan, China, and possibly Mexico.
The district invites applications from interested families who would like to provide full room and board in a family atmosphere for these students for the first and possibly second semester of the 2008-09 school year.
Home stay families receive compensation for supporting these students. Information is available on the district’s International website www.international.sd28.bc.ca or by contacting principal,
Robin Hay at international@sd28.bc.ca.Applications are available at the district administration office, 401 North Star Road.
