Golf season rolled to an end on Sept. 13 for the Marmot Ridge Ladies’ Golf league.
The last ball was sunk at a wind-up tournament which saw 47 of its members come out for 18 holes under sunny skies.
League play took place every Wednesday night with an average of 49 golfers each day, said Sue Pinkerton, one of the members.
Big winners on tournament day were Leena Lautrup who collected $227 in the putting contest and hidden hole winner, and Marilyn Fraser pocketed $100.
Five golfers shared in the birdie pot, with Janet Roux scoring two birdies on the same hole.
Pinkerton said weekly games owe much of their success to sponsors, KFC, Canadian 2 for 1, Whimsey Gifts, A&B Video, Sunrise Ford, Exquisite Florals, Marmot Ridge Golf and Restaurant, Casa Romas, Invis and Donex.
Contributors to the tournament prize
pool were Soul Concepts Aesthetics, Zintl’s, Save-On-Foods, Hops & Vines, Northern Highlights, Action Fitness and Birchview Countrywide Furnishings.
