Timothy Lake on fishing derby circuit
Updated: July 15, 2009 9:00 AM
Nearly every weekend of the summer offers a fishing derby somewhere in the South Cariboo. The BC Day long weekend is no different, featuring a three-day derby at Timothy Lake, just east of Lac la Hache.
The registration fee is $10 per day or $25 for the entire weekend and it includes a pretty cool commemorative souvenir.
Weigh-in is at the Breining’s home, the place with a turquoise roof at 5804 Timothy Lake Rd. That’s also where you can register and get an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast that can be enjoyed for just $2 on Saturday morning starting at 7:30 a.m.
On Sunday, when the fishing is over, the Breinings will host a potluck supper as well but people should call ahead to see what’s needed.
Fish will be weighed from sunrise to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and closes off at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Organizers are promising lots of prizes and anyone needing more information can call Bonnie at 250-396-4305.
