Don’t leave your dogs out

To the editor:
Dogs make great companions as well as company for people alone and playmates for children.
There are many good things about dogs and they are considered to be part of the family by those who have them.
Fortunately, most people, who own dogs, are considerate of their neighbours.
But, what happens when there are a few neighbours who let their dog, or dogs, out, pat them on the head and go off to work or out for the evening?
Their “part of the family” is left out for hours on end, barking and ruining the day or evening for their neighbours.
Now, there is talk of a bylaw to be passed (hopefully) to take care of this problem.
Why does it take bringing in a law (paid for by the taxpayers) before these people will keep their pets quiet, instead of doing it out of consideration for others?
