Build intersection, stop announcing

To the editor:
Good golly Molly, the improved intersection at the junction of Horse Lake and Highway 97 is being trotted out once again.
That’s at least three front-page announcements during a period of about four years that I know of.
It was announced to great fanfare and then a year or two went by.
Then right before Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett made her run for the B.C. Liberals, she and Kevin Falcon announced it yet again.
I believe it was to be completed September 2009. Seeing that both Ms. Barnett and Mr. Falcon won their seats, I guess we could call it a “lucky cloverleaf.”
Perhaps a portion of the masses are perceived to be less than enthusiastic about the billions spent on the Olympics while hospitals, schools and a lot of other things go begging.
It’s time to fill the front page with yet more platitudes about how a safer intersection is long overdue. No kidding, we get that. Stop telling us it’s going to be built and build the thing already.
