HAVE YOU HEARD?

Goodbye, green
Ah, the beautiful aspens, our most abundant deciduous tree in the South Cariboo. How they help green up the area in the spring/summer (especially with all the dead pines around)!
But, alas, how quickly the aspen leaf miners have stolen the emerald and brought us silver. These bugs are unstoppable! Is the area doomed to relinquish its leaves to these hungry larva?
Four-way stop
Here’s a reminder for residents who find themselves approaching the many four-way stops in town (care of ICBC):
If two vehicles arrive at an intersection controlled by four-way stop signs at approximately the same time, the vehicle on the right has the right of way. The vehicle on the left is usually 100 per cent at fault.
The vehicle that arrives at the intersection first and enters the intersection prior to another vehicle has the right of way. (Motor Vehicle Act, Section 175). When ICBC adjusters are unable to determine which vehicle entered the intersection first, fault is usually shared 50-50.
Celebrations
Cake and balloons go out to Michael Dopf, on his birthday today, June 24.
