The Cariboo Presbyterian Church is hosting the Galileans’ Coffee House music night at the Lac la Hache Community Church.
On Nov. 14, from 7-9:30 p.m. at 4855 Timothy Lake Road, a number of musicians will be performing. The music will be either Gospel or music inspired or informed by the Gospel.
Refreshments will be available. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy this event, which could very well be happening every month.
For more information on this event please call Charles at 250-396-4878
Fir Crest property
There is a proposal being put forward by the developers of the Fir Crest property.
The developers are still in the process of setting up another meeting at the Community Club.
The last meeting brought up mixed emotions and some intense discussion. Some residents are in favour of this possible development while others clearly want to hear more.
This opportunity will be available at this next meeting where the developers will be meeting again to gather more community feedback from the residents of Lac la Hache.
Should this proposal go forward as it is expected to do, there would be a public hearing by the CRD to gather public comment on the application.
The next meeting will be on either the 17 or the 18 of November.
For more information on this matter please call CRD Director Al Richmond at 250-791-5477.
Another society
I have talked with several people who are considering forming another society here in Lac la Hache, a society for the stewardship of Lac la Hache.
Those involved are concerned about pollution, water levels and the variety of wildlife that enhances this lake.
I have been told that in the coming months we will hear more about this and information and contacts will be available soon.
For more information please call 250-396-4867 and ask for Shirley.
New tower
Many of us saw the construction and the placement of a new tower directly across the lake from Gunn Road.
Many assumed that it might be a new BC Wireless tower when in fact it is a new Telus Mobility tower for improved cell phone coverage in this area.
Personally, I think that is great. But I wonder, as many of our neighbours do if maybe, just maybe, an improvement to dial-up is in the works somewhere.
Craft fair
The turnout for this years craft fair was exceptionally successful with many, if not hundreds, passing through to participate in this wonderful event.
Baked goods, clothing, paintings, jewelry, to name just a few of the tables that were set up.
Many thanks to all of those who volunteered to make this the success that it has been and to those from this area who bring pride along with their craft to the public in such a professional manner.
