The provincial government is paying the District of 100 Mile House $21,741 in lieu of property taxes.

The money is part of almost $16 million the province is paying to British Columbia municipalities this year.

District chief administrative officer Roy Scott says the

funds are allocated to general

revenues, which is where other property taxes go, to pay for things such as roads, sewers and fire protection.

Scott adds the amount is about the same amount every year.
