West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. reported a loss of $198 million in the third-quarter of the year, bringing its loss to $321 million so far this year.

However, this could be offset by increasing U.S. unemployment; additional foreclosures adding to housing inventories; an end to, or reductions in, government home-buying assistance programs; and increased interest rates.
