A marijuana grow-op bust east of Lac la Hache Aug. 19 netted 100 Mile House RCMP over 2,600 marijuana plants and a large amount of equipment used in producing the drug.

Several violations of the Wildlife Act were also detected and local conservation officers were called in.

BC Hydro was also called to the property to dismantle a power diversion and a lot of hydro equipment to make the property safe before the investigation could continue.

Two men from the Okanagan were arrested at the rural property and taken to the 100 Mile House detachment.

Charges of production of marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking are recommended.

The local detachment was assisted by the North District Drug Section, North District General Investigation Section, Williams Lake Dog Section and the Williams Lake Forensic Identification Unit.
