Market your munchies at 108

Farmers’ markets have been around forever — so what could be more fitting for the 108 Heritage Site?
Spearheaded by 108 resident Ingrid Meyer, all proceeds from her new
mid-week farmer’s market booth
rentals will go toward the 108 Heritage Site via the 100 Mile and District Historical Society.
Meyer says the initial response has been good, with five to eight vendors setting up so far at the brand new market at the 108 Heritage Site, and she says they seem to have something new every week.
“This week we had garden fresh produce,” said Meyer, who really wants to encourage more local growers to come out and hawk their harvests. Food items such as bread or other baking would also feed well into their market.
In addition to several arts and crafts tables and the new produce vendor, Meyer says they also have an ice cream booth and a “cake lady” from Williams Lake.
Although she isn’t a vendor at the market herself, Meyer volunteers with the market managing simply to help
raise funds for the heritage site.
Anyone interested in supporting the 108 Heritage
Site can contact Tom or Mary Ann of the 100 Mile and District Historical Society at 250-791-1971.
The market will run until early September on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; anyone with produce to sell or other farm-marketable products can call Ingrid at 250-791-5663 for info.
