Weed training

Invasive plant contractors and workers are in demand.

The cost of training is valued at $1,000 but all it takes is a $50 deposit, which is returned when the student is certified.

The three multi-day training sessions are aimed at physically fit resource workers who have experience working in the field.

CRD deal

The Cariboo Regional District and its BC Government Employees Union staff have reached a five-year deal that gives those employees 15.5 per cent over a five-year term.

“We are pleased with the term of the new contract that our management team and staff have been able to negotiate,” said Al Richmond, CRD chair.

The negotiated settlement is within the budget previously approved by the CRD directors and presented to residents at Town Hall meetings this year.
