More woodlots

The province is expanding the number of woodlots.

Forests and Range Minister Pat Bell announced 60 to 75 new woodlots over the next three years.

The new woodlots are advertised on BC Bid (www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca).

“It’s gratifying that the Province realizes how important it is to create opportunities for continued local investment in new, community-based, forestry businesses,” said Federation of BC Woodlot Associations’ General Manager Brian McNaughton.

There are currently 828 active woodlots in the province.
