About Us
The people of the South Cariboo are as diverse as the terrain found in this plateau tucked between the Coastal Mountains and the Rocky Mountains. First Nations, pioneer families, artists and, in recent decades, immigrants from Central Europe, make this area home. For the past four decades, the 100 Mile House Free Press has been covering the fascinating people of the South Cariboo, home to approximately 18,000 residents.
We offer exclusive print coverage to the vast region from Lac la Hache in the north to Clinton in the south and as far east as Lac des Roches.
The Free Press offers readers a broad spectrum of coverage - news, opinion, letters to the editor, sports and feature stories. In one respect, the newspaper offers readers something unique - stories from all the smaller outlying communities written by residents of those communities. These elements combine to make a very readable, enjoyable and award-winning community newspaper.
