Finding a Groove

Well after a small bump in the road I feel I am getting into the groove of my health focused days. The bump being the flu which landed me horizontal for 24 hours on Sunday. After a forced fasting I was back to my exercise on Tuesday. When I began thinking about what exercise I wanted to do I knew that I needed variety, a group environment and something fun! While I always walk my dog everyday, it is not a cardio workout and based on my poor results on the aerobic capacity test I knew I really needed to work on this. I have taken up swimming again and enjoy the feeling of moving through the water. I recognized, however, I needed some form of exercise that would keep my heart pumping in my target rate for 60 minutes at a time. I did learn that our bodies only start to burn off fat past about 25 minutes of exercise so of course I want to BURN the fat!! I have always loved to dance so I checked out a new dance studio in North Vancouver called idance. It is awesome. So far I have taken a Bollywood class and Zumba. It is non-stop intense movement that gets you sweating within 10 minutes. Tomorrow I will be going to Dancers Bootcamp. So my goal will be three dance classes during the week (high intensity) and a slower ballet barre class. I also need to fit in 1 swimming session as I find it calming and I love the hot tub, walking the dog and 30 minute boxerfit. Oh yah, I also need to start pumping weights to tone up my arms etc... I had to cancel my fitness consultation on Monday because I was still week from the flu so I will reschedule for Friday. Well it seems like a lot but I plan on exercising EVERY DAY and I am in this for a body transformation and especially to drastically improve my pathetic aerobic capacity. Excercise for health everyone!!
