by Cassie Terepocki

William Park of Langley will be taking home a gold medal from his first BC Winter Games.

The U14 male 400-metre short speed skating finals took place on Friday morning at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre. Park had a good lead the whole race, and finished with a time of 39.87 seconds. Timothy Song of Maple Ridge was right behind Park with a time of 40.19 seconds, and Ciaran Scott of Port Moody was the bronze medalist with a time of 40.39.

“I’d like to thank my coaches and parents.” William proudly said. “Practice is where all the work happens for me.”
